VETERINARY TECHNICIANS (2/17/12)

VETERINARY TECHNICIAN (1/11/12)Northwestern Chester County looking for a licensed or license-eligible Veterinary Technician to join our staff. We practice quality medicine with a focus on prevention and client education. Our staff consists of one FT and two PT veterinarians, a practice director, two veterinary nurses, two office coordinators, an administrative assistant and a kennel/office cleaning person.

We have a full complement of Idexx laboratory equipment, Cornerstone practice management on our computers, ultrasonic dental equipment and digital dental x-ray, respiratory and pulse ox monitors, EKG equipment, digital x-ray equipment, steam sterilizer and ultrasonic cleaner for surgical equipment.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for or assisting with:
Physical examinations, dental procedures, surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring, and nursing care including: Obtain and record patient histories/treatments Medical record upkeep/documentation Phlebotomy and specimen collection and perform laboratory procedures Provide specialized nursing care Prepare animals, instruments and equipment for surgery Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures Expose x-rays Surgical pack upkeep Medical treatment of hospitalized and outpatients Stock and maintain medical supplies Assist with euthanasia Assist receptionist with phone calls

VETERINARY ASSISTANT (1/11/12)
In addition, we are looking for a veterinary assistant who will be largely responsible for exam room assisting; assisting the veterinary technician with the prep and nursing care of the surgical and hospitalized patients; assisting front desk staff with admits/discharges, prescriptions and phone calls; and general support of the entire hospital. The ideal candidate will be experienced, flexible, able to handle multiple and shifting priorities, and follow instructions.

PART-TIME VETERINARY TECHNICIAN (12/12/11)

The New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time veterinary technician with anesthesia experience at our Kennett Square campus. Duties include: Preparation of research animals and Operating/Procedure Rooms for surgery, circulating nurse duties, maintaining aseptic technique. Provide anesthesia for routine cases, including IV catheter placement, induction, intubation, evaluation of anesthetic depth, medication administration, maintenance and recovery. Consult with clinical veterinary staff regarding treatment plans. May oversee and assist veterinary technician students during their clinical externships. May participate in some clinical care. Lift and restrain various size dogs. Maintain medical equipment and supplies. An Associate's Degree in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited school and at least 1 year of anesthesia experience required. Certified Veterinary Technician or eligible to sit for the VTNE.
